Brand of the Week: Jak & Peppar
The Girls Tween Fashion brand pick of the week is none other than Jak & Peppar. With spring here and festival season upon us, I honestly couldn’t think of a better collection to feature.
Jak & Peppar is best known for it’s retro boho style, dramatic layers, rich fabrics and soft color palettes. It is essentially the Free People for girls and tweens!
From festival dresses to boho embroideries, Jak & Peppar promises endless summer vibes that girls will love to wear. Created in 2014, Jak and Peppar is the second collection by designer and founder Shannon Rihm. In her blog, Rihm recalls how the road wasn’t always easy, but she wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and do the work. Her first collection was Mustard Pie, which was started with a lot of big dreams, even more hard work and a few sprinkles of disappointment now and again. Still, she didn’t give up.

Just as Mustard Pie was first inspired by her baby girl, so was Jak and Peppar as her baby grew into a tween. In her blog, she writes:
I knew I needed something new and fresh to fit her blossoming personality. In my life I have always gravitated toward a very free spirited boho inspired look, and it seemed my daughter was longing for the same.
Not finding anything in the tween market for her daughter, Rhim took it upon herself to create what she was looking for, and what the market was craving: a boho inspired collection with unique pieces for tweens. So in 2014, Jak and Peppar was launched.
The extensive collection was designed for girls and tweens, and it features everything from maxi dresses to skirts, rompers, shorts. tanks, maxi cardigans, festival style blouses, jeans and accessories, too. Sizes ranges from baby/toddler to girls/tween size 16.
