The ‘Lob’ or Long Bob hairstyle spread it’s wings this year and added choppy styles, tousled waves and bangs. 2016 was an interesting time for celebrity hair, too. We watched Taylor Swift go platinum with a short bob, and Rachel McAdams go from long locks to a long wavy inverted lob. All over the place girls were trading in their long beach mermaid waves for the effortless long bob hairstyles.
Every now and then a hairstyle becomes THE haircut to have. The long bob has become the new “Rachel” haircut from the 90s, and such a huge trend that every woman has a version of it. I’d say the lob is a much easier hairstyle to maintain and make your own, though, because of it’s versatility. Wear it sleek with bangs or wear it wind-swept and messy. It’s all up to you!

The great thing about the long bob haircut is so many women can wear it, no matter what your face shape is.
If you have a longer forehead, you can opt for fringe bangs or a side swiped look, or for rounder faces, you can try longer eyebrow length bangs (a la Brigitte Bardot) for a chic look. Most often we’ve seen the tousled beach waves, with slightly tapered lengths.

To achieve this style, ask your hairdresser to create multiple layers to add volume and texture. To create the look, apply serum (any anti-frizz serum will do the trick, but I really love anything from Oribe). Use a rounded flat iron or a large barrel curling wand to achieve the beachy waves. I clip my curls up while I’m curling them to make sure they hold. Once your waves have cooled, run your fingers through them, and finish with a texture spray like Apres Beach Waves by Oribe
