The Girls Tween Fashion Brand of the Week is Yellowberry! 


Who: Megan Grassell, founder of Yellowberry was inspired to create the collection when she took her little sister bra shopping to the mall, only to be disappointed by the styles they found. At age 17, Megan took the initiative to sketch her ideas and use her own savings to create Yellowberry. She later raised over $41,000 from Kickstarter to launch Yellowberry.

“When I was 17-years-old, I took my younger sister shopping to buy her very first bra. We scoured the mall to find a product that she was excited about, but I ended up being completely appalled at all of the bra options that were available – padding, push-up features and underwire galore… I could not believe that these were the bras that young girls were supposed to wear!” -Megan Grassell

Why We <3 it: The collection is cute, comfy, colorful and offers age-appropriate bras for Tweens and Teens. I love the photography choice for Yellowberry as well – all of the bras are photographed and shown on the models from the back.


Since 2014, Yellowberry has become a brand that celebrates and supports girls to become confident and empowered women. Yellowberry has been recognized by the Today Show, GMA, NY Times and Megan has been included on Time Magazine’s most influential teen list as well as Fortune and Forbes 30 Under 30.

Yellowberry is growing, too!  Since their first launch, the company has expanded its collection from bras to leggings, loungewear and accessories. We can’t wait to see where they grow next!
