Sunglasses Trends for 2017

What trendy sunglasses are the Instagram bloggers and fashionistas wearing this year?

Many are wearing these cute mirrored lenses in a variety of colors and styles. I have found the most popular sunglasses for Teens is the mirrored Ray-Ban style version frames and aviators. A popular style is the pink and rose gold mirrored sunglasses:

High Fashion and Runways Styles

Most of the styles on the runways and on the streets at shows in Paris and Milan are the retro frames harkening back to 60s and 70s eras with a mix of gradient frames in odd space age shapes and bedazzled elements. Some designers have even taken inspiration from 1940s style frame shapes

I’m definitely a fan of retro styles and big, oversized sunglasses.

Styles above are Fendi, Lela Rose, Dolce & Gabbana and Laura Biagiotti, Cavalli.

A lot of the vintage styles you may be seeing are either true vintage deadstock or thrift store vintage finds. Not all of the retro styles can be found in the stores, and not everyone can afford $400 sunglasses, but I did find one vintage sunglasses store online that has a lot of deadstock vintage sunglasses, and they’re cheap. Score!

There are a few other great shops online for vintage sunglasses, such as Etsy, eBay and Vintageous. But sometimes true vintage can be pricey. So, if you’re looking for trendy and don’t mind cheap, I have scouted some great alternatives (most prices under $20).

Sometimes the best style is the style that’s right for your face shape and personal style. For me, I love all types of sunglasses and it really depends on my outfit and mood for the day. I am really digging on these 70s-80s oversized frames, so I had to snag them from Giant Vintage. They were only $22, so if they end up breaking, I may be heartbroken but, whatevs.

Find similar styles (all priced around $10):

Oversized gradient brown lense sunglasses, $8 at Amazon:

If you love vintage 50s and early 60s fashion, you will love cat eye frames or large round frames.

The classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses are also a simple, timeless style that go with almost any outfit. If you want to save yourself about $120, though, you can grab these for $9.99

If the roaring 20s are your era, you probably love the new Gatsby style sunglasses. Persol and Ray-Ban make a classic ‘Havana’ style that you will fall in love with (but they’re pricey)! Pick from a variety of colored frames, colored lenses or keep it classic with black or my fave, tortoise shell.

If you like more of a 70s to mid-80s style, you will love oversized frames in dark lenses or even gradient lenses (Think Farrah Fawcett and Jackie O.)

For that 80’s Preppy style, it’s gotta be these ($9.88):
