Best Tween Clothing Stores of 2020, Plus the WORST

While ranking the best and worst tween clothing stores of 2020, we realize a lot of strange factors are a play here. 2020 has been one of the weirdest, tragic and worst years for everyone -including retailers. With limited staff, people staying at home, and stores being (mostly) closed, fashion has taken a financial dive and unusual trends. We are all basically living in sweatpants, leggings, tie-dye, and athleisure.

According to Google Trends, our biggest financial priorities in 2020 were: Food, Toilet Paper, and Netflix. Fashion lagged way behind, and back to school clothes shopping? That old tradition was non-existent.

Stores that filed bankruptcy this year included, Ascena, True Religion, Lucky Brand, JC Penney, and Brooks Brothers. Ascena Retail Group is moving forward and hoping to get back to profitability, as it said it plans to “permanently close a “significant” number of Justice stores, along with all Catherines stores, certain Ann Taylor, Loft, Lane Bryant, and Lou & Grey stores during its restructuring.”

Despite the awful year for retail, parents and kids still found joy in their favorite brands.
