Ariana Grande Breaks Her Silence, Promises to Return to Manchester

We are still reeling over the explosion that happened during an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester England on Monday, killing 22 people and injuring over 50. This is the first time the 23-year-old addressed the terrorist attack since her tweet on May 22 that simply read, “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words.”

In the wake of the disaster, Ariana Grande called off many of her tour dates and flew back to her home in Florida. She has stated that she will be returning to Manchester to give a benefit concert and be there for her fans and the families affected. Ariana Grande released a statement about the terrorist attack on Friday May 26th via her twitter account: “We will not quit or operate in fear. We won’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win.” Her 45 million fans quickly responded to Grande’s heartfelt statement and promise to return and perform in Manchester.
“I don’t want to go the rest of the year without being able to see and hold and uplift my fans, the same way they continue to uplift me.”

“From the day we started putting the Dangerous Woman Tour together, I said that this show, more than anything else, was intended to be a safe space for my fans,” she says. “A place for them to escape, to celebrate, to heal, to feel safe and be themselves.”

 

“[The victims] will be on my mind and in my heart everyday,” she concludes. “And I will think of them with everything I do for the rest of my life.”
