CHICAGO (February 2020) – The world’s largest dress store, Peaches Boutique, 5915 S. Jeff Surdej, son to Founders Barb and Roy Surdej, joins Peaches as the Director of Operations to continue to provide quality service to the boutique’s loyal customers.
Following an exciting expansion to the team, Peaches’ Founders Barb and Roy Surdej say the following trends are exactly what teens will see at prom in 2020:
Big Prom Dress Energy
2020 is bringing bright colors and bold styles center stage this year, as a spike in cheetah, animal print, lace and pops of color are prominent. Additional trends that should never go out of style, back cutouts, and lace-up backs also offer an element of surprise and the ability to spice up even the simplest of dresses. Shoppers want to have fun and look stunning while doing it.
Prom Jumpsuits
From the classic jumpsuit to the bedazzled romper, to a jumpsuit complete with a full train, jumpsuits are the perfect versatile outfit for prom this year.
Metallics are the New Sequins
Metallic prom dresses are ultra-modern, and this year’s most popular colors include gold, rose gold, and silver. Similar to sequins, but offering a sleeker look, metallic can work well as full pieces or detailed elements throughout prom dresses.
3D Details
From feathers and larger-than-life flower appliques to poufy, tulle-tiered skirts, fringe, and even capes, prom-goers are making a statement with over-the-top add on’s more than ever before.
Pantone Color of the Year for Prom
The classics are back, and Pantone’s 2020 color of the year, Classic Blue, is already seen everywhere. There is no doubt that this color will be all over the dance floor come prom.
“We are incredibly proud to be able to offer our customers a premier selection of dresses that focus on what’s hot at the current moment,” said Barb Surdej, founder of Peaches Boutique. “We’re noticing as social media becomes more and more of a mainstay in popular culture, trends are emanating online in addition to the traditional runway trickle-down. We’re elated to be able to cater to this shift with a range of exclusive styles from designers including Sherri Hill, Morilee, Jovani, and Ellie Wilde.”
Peaches is home to a variety of exclusive designers known for creating dream dresses year after year including Sherri Hill, Morilee, Jovani, Ellie Wilde, Portia & Scarlett, Alyce Designs, Tarik Ediz, Primavera Couture, and more. Dedicated to offering universal and flattering styles on any and all shapes, the renowned occasion wear supplier has also recently launched its own line, Just Peachy. The new collection features fitted, A-line, and mermaid style dresses that offer a flattering, feminine, and elegant look.
